RUN IT BACK

How nice of Marvel to take our minds off the crushing, reality of a world where Daredevil can get cancelled again, and bring us back to simpler times with an Avengers Endgame re-release, to relive the magical theatrical, experience of seeing that overwhelming Portal scene. My goat Sam Wilson being given, the Captain America shield, Thor, playing Fortnite, and a rat saving the universe. Now, for fun as that may be,who cares?I can watch that whenever I want to.What matters are the bonus scenes,

A bonus scene is an extra piece of writing, video, or media included with a book, movie, or game that shows extra moments between characters or alternate endings.

they’ve been teasing since the, encore was announced that bridged, the gap between Endgame and Doomsday, to try and cover for the post, Kang pivot that has haunted the, multiverse, saga. They added 4 minutes of new footage, spread across three and a quarter, scenes to try and build more, hype for Doomsday. And while one of them definitely did,I’m really conflicted on the others as they felt a little bit weird to me.Let me try and explain what I mean. The first scene picks up right where Endgame.

Loki visits Steve

left off as instead of cutting to the credits,Steve and Peggy’s kiss is interrupted by a knock on the door from Loki, who says he’s there to help them both.Okay, where do I even start with this one?Steve Rogers is my all-time favorite character, not just in Marvel, but in anything. So, I am very protective of his story in the MCU.This ending was such a beautiful sendoff for his character, knowing that he finally got to, live the life that was stolen, from him and have his dance with, Peggy. So,to now insinuate, that he didn’t even get to finish, his dance before being called, back into the fight does not, sit right with me at all and, does hamper the ending for me.I already don’t like the fact, that Steve is returning in Doomsday, in the first place as a focal, point of the movie being one, of the main characters, but to go even further and fundamentally change his ending and recontextualize, it to fit this new narrative they are so desperately, trying to make work does leave a bit of a sour taste in my mouth.

At least when Hugh Jackman returned as Wolverine, they left that original version of the character alone.Even if Deadpool did like completely desecrate his grave in every possible way,but that was funny, so it gets a pass. And you know what?Even Deadpool had the common courtesy to wait a few months. They wouldn’t do that for Steve here.My man couldn’t even get a kiss in.Sorry, I know I’m getting heated, but I’m very biased about this and I’m not going to pretend that I’m not. There’s definitely a way to bring, Steve back in the MCU that would, make me very happy and have me, cheering at my screen.I just feel like the MCU has, made the wrong decision that, doesn’t really fit with the narrative, they told in the Infinity Saga, and what they’ve been telling, in the Multiverse, saga. The thing is,as much as I wish Steve wasn’t here overshadowing Sam Wilson’s Captain America,I do like the idea of his ending having consequences. He made a selfish choice in Endgame, to go back in time and create, a branch timeline.

So, yeah, let’s see what that does to the multiverse, considering how it goes against all the rules of incursions, they’ve set up to this point. That is a really good idea for, this story and does make sense, to bring him back into the fold.My big problem with this scene isn’t the concept of it, but the placement of it.At least let the man live his, life for a bit in the past so, he has time to cause those problems, and has more agency in the story, instead of Loki just showing, up,telling him that something’s going to happen and then relocating him.For example,I think this scene would be more, impactful if it happened when, Steve was holding his baby like, we saw in that previous trailer. That’s still a very big moment in his life when seeing Loki would be incredibly, jarring and hit even more knowing,

jar:
[I, T] ~ (on sth) |~ (sth) to have an unpleasant or annoying effect (对…)产生不快的影响;使烦躁 SYN grate
His constant mkoaning was beginning to jar on her nerves.
他不停的呻吟使她焦躁不安起来。
There was a jarring note of triumph in his voice.
他声音里含有一种烦人的扬扬得意的口气

he was allowed to lay some roots, in this timeline, only to be plucked out of here,

pluck

[T] ~ sb (from sth) (to sth)to remove sb from a place or situation, especially one that is unpleasant or dangerous 解救;搭救
Police plucked a drowning girl from the river yesterday.
昨天警方从河里救起了一名溺水少女。
Survivors of the wreck were plucked to safety by a helicopter.
沉船的幸存者被直升机营救脱险。
She was plucked from obscurity to instant stardom.
她得到提携,从默默无闻转瞬成为明星。

and sent somewhere that I can’t, mention without talking about, leaks, because we already know he does get to live that life.

The trailer last year confirmed, that when we get to see Steve, living on a farm in this different, house. So, it’s not like they’re undoing his ending. They’re just changing the context, surrounding in a worse way because, now we got to ask the question, did old man Steve Rogers live through the events of Doomsday?because that would be a real headache.I guess he knows it all works out in the end,but it’s still a crazy thing, to retcon that his whole it was, beautiful line is now referring, to the events of Doomsday as, well in a sense.I don’t know, man.At least he got to see Sam be Captain America. That’s a cool takeaway from this. But I think I just love the beautiful simplicity of his ending. So to now convolute it with this Doomsday tie-in,retconing, the big climax of your last saga, to now set up this new one because, they didn’t spend the time to, build up Doom and this new narrative, and instead are trying to retroactively, make it make sense at the cost of character arcs.I’m not the biggest fan of it.

Maybe Doomsday itself is going, to make this scene work in context, of the rest of the narrative.I will go into with an open mind as always, but we are starting off on the wrong foot.I guess my hope for this retcon, and trying to make sense of what’s, happening with Steve and Doomsday, is that they kind of clear up his ending in Endgame, because a bit of a hot take incoming. But even if Steve’s ending was, really sweet and did make me, tear up the first time I watched, it,I didn’t wholeheartedly, love it as much as I wish I did, because I don’t think they explained, it thoroughly.Like how does it work with the, time travel logic they set up, in the movie itself?Surely he should be making a branch timeline, but for some reason the writers and directors can’t decide. And some of them think he lived, throughout the MCU as an old, man and that that’s him in Civil, War,which I fundamentally hate because that would mean Steve kissed his own niece. And no thank you, he’s not that American, guys.

And also, if Steve did choose to go back and live in 1950s America, please tell me he was making tons of different changes there, like helping with the civil rights, movement and freeing Bucky from, Hydra’s brainwashing. There is no way that the Steve, Rogers I know would ever go back, in time and let Bucky suffer, through that.If they were to establish the fact that Steve Rogers became this revolutionary, icon in American history, changing the timeline,it would make even more sense, for why Loki needs to intervene, because Steve has made way too, many changes and now this universe, has become unstable and is going, to cause an incursion with Earth, 1999.I’m not calling it 616, Kevin to naturally bring him back into the story that way.I think that would work really well. But instead, when you have Loki come back right away to kneecap that moment,it doesn’t hold the same weight it once does. That being said,I do think this scene is unintentionally really funny from Steve’s perspective.Consider this.

You just fought this insane, war to stop a time displaced Thanos from destroying the entire universe, right? You finally decide to do some self-care and live your own life again, going back in time to live with your lost love.Hopefully getting consent from her to override her future as well. But again, very different issue. He finally gets to have this dance with Peggy. And then out of nowhere, Loki, dressed to the nines in a full, suit and tie shows up and says, he’s here to help Steve when, the last time Steve interacted, with Loki.Thor was arresting him and taking him back to Asgard. That must be a crazy experience, especially after he just ran into the Red Skull in Vormir. It is a miracle his brain is, still working right now with, all the insane things the universe, has thrown his way.I think that is hilarious. The next scene was the most shocking to me because it completely.

Doom collects Banner

changed everything I thought I knew about Doomsday.Genuinely, it picks up with the Bruce Banner after the events of Spider-Man:Brand New Day,locked up 2 mi underground, in a military base running tests on the Hulk before he’s ambushed by Dr.Doom, asking him,“Are you afraid?” To which, wait,no, hold on,that’s the wrong line.Sorry, green lighting threw me off there. What happens is Doom barges in and says he’s come to collect him, stealing Banner and leaving only a rune in his wake.Whoa.Okay, I honestly didn’t expect to see Bruce in Doomsday whatsoever, especially after Brand New Day.So to see him used in this way caught me completely offguard.First off, it’s kind of crazy this wasn’t a postredit scene for Brand New Day,right? One of my problems with that, movie is that Banner just kind, of disappears after the second, act.So this would have given him, some closure in the credits and, adjusted my expectations, for Hulk’s journey.Secondly,it’s almost impressive how much the MCU.

continues to find new ways for Bruce Banner to suffer. He finally found peace as a teacher, after this decadel long internal, struggle with the Hulk. Then had it all ripped away from him by a telepath.Hulked out for the first time in over a decade.Fought Spider-Man, only to now be locked up by the military and then stolen by a multiversal, sorcerer. That’s insane. My man cannot catch a break. If you put together a Bruce Banner happiness compilation, throughout the entirety of the MCU,it would last 2 seconds long and they’d all be from Ragnarok, when he was stressed out of his mind. That’s how bad it’s gotten for him.Poor Bruce is never allowed a moment of peace. As for what this scene means,I do have some concerns about Bruce’s future in Doomsday.I know, I know, more doom and gloom, but I promise I can back this one up,and it all depends on what they actually do with the Hulk.Brand New Day left us off with, the most interesting possible, spot for the Hulk going forward.Banner was finally forced to.

confront the fact that he actively, locked the Hulk away and suppressed, him, which was not healthy for him whatsoever. They effectively set him up to, have a really interesting story, of self-discovery,hopefully addressing the fact that he has dissociative, identity disorder and learning to live with the Hulk.It seems like for the first time since Ragnarok,if not the first Avengers movie,we were finally going to get a proper Hulk exploration in the future. And I could not have been more excited for that. But maybe I was just blissfully, naive expecting that when Universal, clearly hates money and we’re never going to get a solo Hulk project again, which makes me always angry. But even putting aside my frustratingly, wrong expectations about the Hulk in the future of the MCU,my main issue with that scene is just the fundamental, fact that I don’t know if I trust the Russos with the Hulk again. For as much as I do love him being the one to snap everybody back in Endgame, effectively, giving his transformation into.

the Hulk a purpose in the grand, scheme of the cosmos, they did fumble the execution, on Smart Hulk by having so much, of it happen offscreen in Endgame. So now 7 years later after finally correcting their mistake with Smart Hulk.To see him potentially sidelined again is crazy. We cannot go back through that cycle of missed potential.I will lose it.I have played these games before, with the MCU setting up an interesting, arc for the Hulk in Infinity, War only to completely skip over, it in Endgame. It feels like we’re going through, that exact same thing in Brand, New Day in Doomsday. Please don’t do this to my big green boy.I can’t have another movie where the Hulk is only used as a plot device.Whatever it is that happens in Doomsday, this is make or break for the Russos. They need to clear those fraud, allegations and prove they know, what they’re doing with the Hulk. It’s a second chance, and they better not blow it.To be honest, though,a part of me is at least glad we’re going to see the Hulk again so soon,

considering that he can’t get these solo projects right now for some goddamn, reason. So, they need to find a way to fit him into this stuff, and this could be a really interesting way to do so.Just depends on what they actually do with him, considering the fact that Dr.Doom just collected the Hulk, whatever the hell that means. So, let’s try and figure that out, shall we?Right now, I’ve got three theories on what Doom is trying to do with the Hulk. The first is that he’s taking the Hulk’s powers away to make himself stronger, effectively using magic to turn the Hulk into a battery that will fuel him, explaining why he is so insanely strong in this movie, punching far above his weight level. But, I don’t think that’s the, most interesting thing they could, do with the Hulk.My second theory is that Dr.Doom is forcibly kidnapping Bruce Banner, but he wants him to be on his side during the Doomsday conflict.I think that Doom could be assembling, his own team of some of the most.

powerful people in the universe, that we aren’t seeing in Doomsday, right now.It could explain where characters like Dr.Strange, Clean, the Scarlet Witch, and now Hulk have been as they’ve been in the background helping Dr.Doom when he convinced them to join his team.In Banner’s case,I think what could have happened, here is Doom pitched Banner on, a new reality where he will finally, let him live a peaceful life, free from the Hulk. For someone as desperate as Bruce, who just had their first major Hulk out in years,it would be smart for Doom to, prey on those emotions when he’s, weak and vulnerable to try and, give him a permanent solution, at the cost of making the hard, decisions that Bruce might want, to to try and save the multiverse, this way.I’m sure there’s going to be some lies in there as well because it’s Dr.Doom.He’s not going to tell Bruce the full story. But here’s the thing.I don’t like that idea too much.I think it’d be pretty out of character for Bruce to join up with Dr.Doom in the first place, but.

especially making such a selfish, decision like that.Whoa, hold on.No free product placement. What are we doing here, man?And can we fix that real quick?Thank you. That’s much better. So, here’s my third theory and the one I’m most confident in.I think that ahead of Doomsday,Victor is trying to take these pieces off the board to weaken the Avengers. He knows that somebody like the Hulk is going to be a major problem for him.So, if he’s able to collect the Hulk ahead of time and say, lock him up in the void, then it’s going to make his mission that much easier.Maybe he did the exact same thing, to Spider-Man and that’s what, happened in Brand New Day’s postredit, scene as Dr.Doom collected Spider-Man ahead of time.maybe even did the same thing to Gan Gray and that’s why she’s in Secret Wars.Definitely not the Punisher, though, because let’s be honest, what the hell is Frank gonna do against Dr.Doom? What is going to tell him something to death?Get out of here, man.We already know from the leaked.

Secret Wars concept art they, are at least considering the, idea of doing Greenland, the Hulk portion of Battle World, and this could be how we get there. This way, by making Banner and Hulk a prisoner of Doom, they’re able to preserve this, new direction for the character, by just introducing this roadblock, that we can circle back around, to after Secret Wars. It’s the best of both worlds and a justification, to include the Hulk in a way, that I would actually be really, excited about as they explain, where he is during the events, of Doomsday.Or I’m just wrong and completely delusional, but that’s boring. All right, let me have this one.Oh, this next scene is by far my favorite of them all.

TVA monitors multiverse

I am really excited to talk about this one, even if somebody online did lie about the Phanto universe being destroyed in it,which would have healed my soul.I hate that movie with a fiery passion. But I guess we can’t have nice things. At least the rest of the scene is still great. The third scene takes place in the TVA as Casey, OB,and a returning Mobius are checking out an incursion taking place between Earth, 10005, and 1127, before it spirals out of control into 3,000, other universes being destroyed, as OB declares that the multiverse is collapsing. Now,that is how you do a postredit, scene to raise the stakes and get me excited for Doomsday.Especially seeing OB again. That’s the goat right there.I love that guy.It is so surreal.we’re going to be seeing him in an Avengers movie. Now, I am beyond happy for Kihu Kuan. One thing that has confused me about Doomsday’s, marketing strategy is how little they focused on the incursions, themselves and the actual ticking clock as time runs out before Doomsday.

as they instead try to hype up Doom as much as possible. So,this is a really cool way to, show us just how bad things have, gotten for everybody. The tension when the horny guy, from Deadpool and Wolverine points, out the chain reaction is palpable. It really feels like the end times, which is the exact kind of vibe you want going into this film.Plus, there’s a little plaque on the wall that calls Loki the employee of all time, which is such a great bit that, felt right at home with that, show’s sense of humor.Honestly, it’s just nice to be back at the TVA again.Loki season 2 is one of my all-time favorite seasons of television. It is a masterpiece in every regard. So, I really miss this place. They created such a rich workplace, environment that did a lot of, heavy lifting for this saga with, a strong cast of supporting characters. It’d be a real shame if anything bad happened to them, huh?Well, anyways,if I could be honest with you for a second, and I think I can be.We go way back.

My first gut reaction when watching, this scene was also to start, doom posting about it.Pun very much so intended, but thankfully, don’t get too ahead of yourself. This story ends much more hopefully. At first,I was admittedly, very worried about Mobius returning after his sendoff in Loki season 2.His whole arc over the course, of that season was about this, moment right here when he finally, accepts he can have life outside, of the TVA, and goes to see what it was like on the sacred timeline. He even tells B15 that he needs to leave and see what he’s been protecting. For the first time in God knows how long.Mobius has free will.He could go anywhere. He could do anything. He could finally ride that jet ski he always wanted to.It was such a beautiful scene, that still makes me tear up every, time I watch him take it all, in.seeing his own life that was, robbed from him and having the, blessing of endless choices for, what he can do for himself now.Yet also a hint of sadness in his voice,

knowing that Loki isn’t there to watch him achieve it.It was a perfect moment of overwhelming calm and quiet.Easily one of the best endings for any character in the MCU.I especially loved the ambiguity of it all, though, not knowing what comes next for him, but knowing that he’s out there. So to now bring Mobius back and have him working for the TVA again, the reasoning to justify it needs, to be strong as hell to not solely, that ending for me as well. But despite my gut reaction being to hate that,I can see a really interesting, path forward with this that has, me fully on board with it.And also, you know,I just really missed Owen Wilson’s charm, man.He is so endearing. If this situation is an all hands-on, deck type thing that brings him, back into the fold, that works. They’re going to need their best analyst as the universe collapses. This could even make Mobius’s character more interesting as now,for the first time ever, he has something to lose.I think it calls back to Mobius’s.

speech in the Loki season 2 finale in a really interesting way,as now he’s on the opposite end of that. There, he told Loki that you got to keep the big picture in mind. Most purpose is more burden than glory. And trust me,you never want to be the guy who avoids it cuz you can’t live with the burden. The hard thing to [music] do was the thing that had to be done. And by hard, I mean impossible. Now there’s no comfort. You just choose your burden.>> Those beautifully crushing words inspired Loki to make his sacrifice, and accept the burden of his glorious purpose. But for Mobius at the time, it was his way of justifying his work at the TVA.Now that he’s gone through this incredibly well-ritten arc,it’s a really cool way to take, those words and reflect them, back in Mobius as he now knows, he needs to step up in the same, way Loki did to protect him.Oh god, character writing like that gives me chills. If they’re going that direction with Mobius,I am so excited to see him in, this movie and hope he has more.

of a role than just this one, scene. As long as he’s not back with the TVA full-time, I can accept it.Even just a work life balance would be nice, letting him clock in at the TVA like a desk job when he’s managing time itself.Plus, I do really like the idea of now Mobius having to step up to save Loki.which, you know, now that I’ve said it out loud,I might as well address the big elephant in the room, being the fact that I’m definitely, concerned that this whole scene, implies that Loki’s tree has, been chopped down. That is keeping me awake at night.I am losing sleep over the fact that Loki might be in danger, and I just can’t accept that.Everything was fine when he took, a seat on that lonely throne, to hold the multiverse together, all by himself. And now that everything isn’t fine,it must imply that something has gone wrong with him.Especially considering that we just saw Dr.Doom attacking the Hulk and collecting him.Who’s to say he didn’t do the same thing to Loki, too?

going after someone even more powerful. Please God, Marvel, you got less than 3 months before this movie comes out.I am begging you, don’t you dare kill Loki again. So help me, God,we cannot run this back.It is lazy and would be my villain origin story, undoing that perfect ending to, just make him another plot device, to prop up another villain.I will not rest until the sun shines on him and Thor again, and they get their happy ending, riding off into the sunset, finally being allowed to be brothers. We can’t have this movie start with another Loki variant dying because if so,I am not walking out of that theater alive either.I need to calm down.I need something else to talk about.Um, the X-Men timeline that’s confirmed in this postredit scene. That’s cool. They’re Earth 10005.It’s great we finally have confirmation, it’s going to be that specific team in Doomsday, not any variants. There’s no significance to Earth 11127, though. So,I’m just going to pretend it’s, a reality of only Cape Bishops.

because that sounds really peaceful, to me right now and I need to, calm down.Okay, now that we have that confirmation though,it’s crazy to think just how far this X-Men timeline has developed. The last time we saw them, everything had basically worked, out for the better in Days of, Future Past and now it has all, gone to hell as the multiverse, is collapsing and they’re going to war with other universes. That is just insane.Imagine telling that to somebody in 2014.Although, this does now add a significant problem to the Fox X-Men timeline, making that even more convoluted, which pretty much makes it the most accurate thing to that universe possible,as Mystique died in that timeline, but now is alive in Doomsday. So, that’s going to give me a headache to think about. Please don’t ask me any other X-Men timeline questions.I’ll start crying on the spot.

Doom builds mask

And finally, the last new footage is literally, three frames added to the very, end of this movie over the metal, clanging, sound that was originally intended, to be a loving tribute to the, first Iron Man film when Tony, Stark made his suit in the cave, with a box of scraps.Closing the loop on the Infinity, Saga in this sweet full circle, moment as the last thing we hear, is the birth of Iron Man.Very touching tribute, right?Well, what if they recontextualize that as Dr.Doom forging his mask instead?Huh?How about that?As much as this is them trying to retroactively, make Doom seem like he was always the plan,as they now changed the meaning by showing Doom hammering away instead,I will admit that this is a cute idea on paper. And I don’t fully hate it.I just think that it would have, hit a lot harder if we actually, had any connection to this version, of Dr.Doom and it wasn’t Marvel trying to gaslight, us into thinking he was the plan all the way back in 2019.you know, back when they still wanted to make a Blade movie,

and we all know how that turned out. They can’t fool me.No matter what they do, I will never forget Kang Dynasty. And the fact that they wanted to release two Avengers movies in the same year, that is insanity. It’s one thing to hard pivot and make Dr.Doom the new big bad.I don’t think that’s inherently a bad idea outside of the casting.I would actually be all for that. It’s more so the fact that we didn’t get a Fantastic, 4 sequel introducing him and fleshing out his rivalry with Reed before Doomsday, to make that movie carry the weight it should. It’s like how they had Loki as the villain in the first Thor movie,so that when they interacted in the Avengers, it hit that much harder. But Doom can still definitely, work as a villain with this being, his first appearance if he is, written properly in the Fantastic, 4 are given the time they deserve.I just really hate to see that desperation in Marvel’s eyes as they retcon, scene after scene to try and, trick us into thinking that all.

roads have always led to Doom. That is some serious rewriting of history.God, I hate being so negative about this movie.I’m genuinely excited for Doomsday and already bought my tickets months ago. This is going to be a crazy experience, seeing all these characters interact, with each other.I just really hope they stick to landing because between these scenes, the overall marketing, and the actors they brought back,I’m not as excited as I’d like, to be or even close to the level, I was going into Infinity, War.But that’s a bummer of a note to end this video on.So, let’s talk about one really cool thing they did.I absolutely.

Phones away PSA

loved this put your phones away PSA with the cast watching that movie. It is such a fun gimmick that put the biggest smile on my face. It’s always so funny to see superheroes in casual places while in costume. The moment we get that full thing in HD, I’m making it my wallpaper.I love it so much. And they finally let me see Captain America again, too. That’s going to keep me sane for another, I don’t know,3 hours at this rate.Especially since Ghost is right behind him. That is my entire brand right there.Every single time I see them share the frame,my life is extended by another 5 years. So, at this rate,I’ve got what, 10 years left to live. Also, also Reed fully locked in,no food or anything, just watching the movie all stoic is perfect characterization.Man, the more I look at this picture, the more I love about it.I could honestly make an entire video breaking down this 20 second teaser.I love when they do things like this so much. But this video has gone on long enough,

and I’ve actually got a confession, to make since you’ve already, made it this far.I haven’t even seen Endgame Encore yet.The whole time you’ve been hearing me talk about the scenes,I haven’t even had the chance to watch them for myself in HD.Yet, I still talked about them like the expert I am,and you ate it up.Now,there’s nothing you can do to, stop me or get your time back, because you watched the whole, video and you know I was right, anyways.I’ve already won and scammed my way through this.Who’s the fool now, huh? It’s me still.I’m still the fool.I had to cancel my ticket due to a storm kicking my ass.So, that’s not fun.But now that this video is done, I can actually go watch it.So, I’m going to go do that.In the meantime, why don’t you just let me know your thoughts on the Endgame Encore bonus scenes.I would genuinely love to hear, what everyone has to say and, continue the conversation, down below. And while you’re at it,make sure to give this video, a like and subscribe so you don’t, miss the next one.

If you don’t do it, I’m going to collect you,but I don’t have anywhere fancy for you to go,so you’re just going to go to my basement.Basically, just subscribe or I’m going to kidnap you.Okay.
